Decision Learning

Decision Learning is a site developed by Jeff Shultz, Ph.D., with educational materials designed to address four problems in genetics education:

Problem One: Dictionary-style textbooks include so much information that core concepts are lost. The Decision Learning genetics textbook is less than 200 pages long, focusing on core information.

Problem Two: There is a vast amount of information about genetics. Learning to use core concepts to understand and apply new findings is more useful than memorizing a series of facts.

Problem Three: Educational levels rarely actually exist. There is no difference between what can be understood in High school and Graduate school. Know the fundamentals, then specialize as your career path requires.

Problem Four: Educational materials can be expensive. Most Decision Learning titles are $8.99 or less. Full color course materials (PCR and Electrophoresis) are $14.99.

The material presented in this website is simple and, in most cases, all you need to know.
